Eligible Vets should apply for the VA Caregiver Support Program

mark

Many disabled Veterans are not aware that the Department of Veterans Affairs offers two programs to assist family members who provide care for the Veteran.  The Program of General Caregiver Support Services (PGCSS) offers support to the caregivers of disabled Veterans in the form of peer support mentoring, skills training, coaching,  telephone support, online programs, and referrals.  The Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC) offers additional clinical support for caregivers of eligible Veterans.  More information on both these programs, along with eligibility requires, can be found at https://www.caregiver.va.gov/support/PCS_Program_Difference.asp.

Veterans can also inquire about the program with the applicable Caregiver Support Team at the nearest VA Medical Center.  Contact information for these CSP Teams can be found at https://www.caregiver.va.gov/support/New_CSC_Page.asp.
